At Medford Radiology Group Interventional Clinic, we specialize in minimally invasive and image-guided procedures that can be performed in an outpatient setting. This maximizes quality of care and convenience in ways not previously available in Southern Oregon. The following are some examples of procedures we offer.
Needle Biopsy
During a biopsy, your provider will take a sample of tissue from a specific area of your body in order to examine it more closely. A biopsy may be recommended if previous tests (such as a mammogram or visual examination) have indicated an area of tissue is not “normal” and warrants a closer look for diagnosis and treatment. The imaging-guided biopsies we perform include:
- Liver Biopsy
- Kidney Biopsy
- Endometrial Biopsy
- Lymph Node Biopsy
- Thyroid Biopsy
- Bone Marrow Biopsy
Paracentesis and Thoracentesis
These procedures remove excess fluid from the abdomen or pleural space (area around the lungs). They can be used to both treat fluid buildup, and diagnose underlying causes. Guided by imaging technology, a catheter is inserted through the skin to drain the targeted fluids, and is then removed once the procedure is finished. The fluid may then be examined to diagnose health concerns such as:
- Cancer
- Pneumonia
- Cirrhosis
- Tuberculosis
- Pancreatitis
- Infections
- Congestive Heart Failure
